Did there ever come a time where the meetings became unbearable?

by RULES & REGULATIONS in

i try to attend about 3 sunday meetings per month just to keep my whole family from disowning me.

every week the meetings become more difficult to attend.. the singing is awful,the prayers are all about the ''faithful and discreet slave''.the talks are boring and repetative.the watchtower study reminds of trained seals at the zoo where they do the same tricks over and over just so they can get their treat of fresh fish.

the answers are short and read off the watchtower magazine word for word.

Yes, absolutely UNBEARABLE. In fact, we have to force ourselves to attend the upcoming Memorial. The plan is to be the last in and first out so as to avoid any hounders. Hopefully, we don't have to continue this charade for too much longer.

I also have read it - great book...

Have to put a plug in for what I am currently reading - From the Ashes of Angels - The Forbidden Legacy of a Fallen Race - ANDREW COLLINS - ISBN 0-451-18926-4 - which I have found extremely enlightening - good deal of information concerning the Book of Enoch and its influence/relation to the Book of Daniel - also relates greatly to Genesis 6 and the Nephilim...just love this stuff - the deeper you delve, the more 'pagan' the Bible becomes!

Just my 2c -

If you do go, make sure you take an alternative Bible, King James/New American/Revised Standard, whatever - main thing - don't just follow along with the New World Transobfuscation. Carefully make note of any alternative readings to any of the scriptures the travelling snake oil salesman quotes or reads (which, from what I hear, are becoming fewer and fewer anyway) and then, if applicable, sow some fodder for a dub mind to churn over...

my mother retired from her full-time job recently and has started attending meetings again.

she also has plenty of time to think about her wayward children, including me.

one night, we were talking and she asked me, again, why i wasn't going to meetings.

That if you didn't go out in service on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, or preferably, BOTH, and give Jehovah his 'tenth part', there would be no blessing on the rest of your time spent in other pursuits....talk about a GUILT TRIP every weekend...

in that case, a vast number of restraints and rules steal the best time of your life.. sadly, the new book questions young people ask answers that work (volume 2) which was released at the district convention 2008 contains a rather biased view on biblical characters.

Ryanair to start charging for toilet use on planes.

ok...that part is not so humorous.

irish carrier ryanair, europe's largest budget airline, might start charging passengers for using the toilet while flying, chief executive michael o'leary said on friday.

"one thing we have looked at in the past and are looking at again is the possibility of maybe putting a coin slot on the toilet door so that people might actually have to spend a pound to spend a penny in future," he told bbc television.
